WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT

  • by

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” – Mark 8:36

THIS SCRIPTURE DOES NOT SUPPORT the accursed fallacy of works-based salvation, though many a false prophet might have you to believe so. A man need not give up the world to come to Christ, because salvation is a “take”, rather than a “give” proposition. Rather, it refers to the foolish choice of ignoring the eternal destination of one’s immortal soul. I ask you, dear reader, to cease temporarily from the distractions of life and contemplate this oft-neglected subject. Where will you spend eternity?

If you desire perpetual bliss amid the paradise of God, you must acknowledge you are a guilty sinner condemned to the lake of fire, and are wholly incapable of delivering yourself from that deplorable fate. Then, you must believe that Jesus Christ, the sinless, only begotten Son of God, died on the cross to pay for your sins with his blood, was buried, and was bodily resurrected three days later unto your justification.
