“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” – Psalm 14:1
THERE ARE MANY WAYS by which men reveal themselves to be fools. They may extol the virtues of that farcical system of governance called “democracy.” They may insist that sinful, mortal men can somehow make themselves righteous before a sinless, holy God. They may proclaim that all that is before us today exists only by illogical and unproven evolutionary processes which would require countless miracles to succeed. They may declare the earth is only six thousand years old and that man coexisted with dinosaurs. But no speech proves a man a fool so readily as to say, “There is no God.” For the man who denies the existence of his Maker – the same Maker in whose hand his very breath is (Daniel 5:23) – performs a most blasphemous sacrilege.
Why do men say there is no God? It is because they do not want to be answerable to their creator, and thus undertake to make themselves gods. Do not tell me their is no proof God exists. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth his handiwork (Psalm 19:1). The gospel of creation is written on the face of the deep, and the sparkles of the nighty sky, and the majesty of the sunset, yet men will say, “No God.” They observe the intricacy of life among even the tiniest of living creatures, and the incredible habitations they construct for themselves, and the marvelous delicacy by which they abide, and yet men will say, “No God.”
Here, they leave off the very reason and logic which they claim leads them to conclude God does not exist. How can it be supposed that living things arose from non-living things? How can it be supposed that all that exists came to being by a farcical “big bang”? Only by appealing to the preposterous pseudo-science of evolution can men deceitfully justify their rebellion against the very God they claim to be a figment of the imagination. Only by trampling upon reason and making a mockery of logic can they support a philosophy so fallacious as evolution.
I tell you, dear reader, that God is not only real; he is a consuming fire upon those who reject him. And I thereby warn you, that if you do not wish to spend eternity tormented by the interminable flames of the Lake of Fire, that you must not only acknowledge God is real. Yet, it is not enough merely to believe God exists, for the devils also believe, and tremble (James 2:19). You must also acknowledge you have sinned against him and violated his holy law, thereby meriting eternal punishment. You must believe that he sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die at Calvary for your sins, be buried, and be bodily resurrected three days later unto your justification. And if you do believe this as your only hope for heaven, you will avoid that odious fate which awaits the unregenerate man.
Please do not persist in rejecting the Almighty’s existence, for in so doing you reject your only means of escaping the wrath to come. Yet, if you have denied God’s existence all your life, he will forgive you if you will but come to him as a guilty sinner and receive Christ as your Savior. I pray that you do so, and leave you with these sobering words. “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36).
