The word of the Lord endureth forever
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
IT IS A PREVALENT THEME of these pages that God cannot lie – that it is impossible for the Almighty to be false or untrue in any way. When Jehovah declares something to be so, it is so, whether our feeble, finite minds can comprehend it, or not. And in the case of whether or not the King James Bible, and the manuscripts which comprise it, have been preserved from the time of their writing, when Christ himself says that heaven and earth themselves will pass away before a single jot or tittle of the holy scriptures, who are we to assert otherwise? Who are we, but sinful clumps of clay, fashioned from the dust of this earth, and whose breath is in the hand of God, to allege the Almighty incapable of keeping his promises?
We inhabit an age populated by so-called “scholars” and “experts” who have appointed themselves to the blasphemous office of Bible corrector. In their efforts to denigrate the infallibility, inspiration, and preservation of the King James Bible, they will reference a multitude of pseudo-scholarly subjects which often overwhelm the less learned laymen – subjects as the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, the inability of various words to be properly translated into English, and the presence of archaic, obsolete terminology in the King James Bible.
The fallacies of the “logic” employed in propounding these faulty arguments are myriad, and have been thoroughly discussed in these pages. Much, have I mentioned how there never was a book called “the Bible” full of only the original manuscripts, since the oldest “original” Old Testament texts had passed off the scene long before the New Testament was written. Frequently, have I remarked the concept of “lost in translation” which confines the translation of secular works cannot be applied to the very words of God, with whom nothing is impossible. Oft, have I noted the existence of dictionaries and thesauri as simple means of learning the meanings of any difficult words in the King James Bible, the existence of which has been comically exaggerated by the holy writ’s detractors to legitimize their preposterous theories.
And, as in all things pertaining to life and godliness, the matter rests in who you, dear reader, will choose to make your final authority. Who is to have the final say on whether or not the King James Bible is the inspired, preserved, perfect word of God? Pastors? Self-proclaimed Bible “scholars”? Infidels? Members of false religions? Or Immanuel?
Ultimately, you must decide for yourself who you will believe. I pray that you choose wisely, for a man who does not believe the Bible is inspired and preserved, is unlikely to believe its wonderful truths, particularly the gospel, the only way by which men can be saved.
